Redundancy Module

Industrial Diode ORing Modules for N+1 Power Decoupling, Fault Isolation & Uninterrupted Operational Uptime.

High Reliability Power Decoupling

Industrial Diode ORing Redundancy Modules (SSMDOR Series)

Micro Power SSMDOR Series Redundancy Modules are built specifically for industrial automation, process control, substations, and critical telecom infrastructure where DC bus availability cannot be compromised. In high-availability N+1 systems, connecting power supplies directly in parallel carries the risk of a shorted output bringing down the entire system.

By integrating low-loss diode ORing decoupling circuits, the SSMDOR redundancy module completely isolates two parallel DC power supplies. If one power unit experiences an internal failure or AC mains outage, the secondary power supply instantaneously feeds the load without any output voltage drop, disruption, or data loss.

Technical FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Why use a redundancy module instead of connecting power supplies directly?

Connecting two power supplies directly in parallel without diode ORing isolation can lead to internal cross-feeding currents. If one power supply develops an internal short circuit on its output stage, it will pull down the voltage of the secondary healthy supply, resulting in a total system shutdown. A redundancy module prevents this by providing reverse current protection and decoupling.

Can SSMDOR redundancy modules be used for both 24V and 48V DC systems?

Yes. The SSMDOR series includes dedicated models specifically rated for 24VDC, 48VDC, and 110VDC systems, ensuring proper insulation, thermal handling, and diode ratings across different industrial operating voltages.

Are these redundancy modules suitable for N+1 redundant architectures?

Absolutely. They are engineered specifically for N+1 redundant setups, allowing dual power sources (or multiple units) to feed a single DC bus while maintaining complete isolation between power supplies.
